You're probably too young to know about this sandwich's gimmick.

The big thing wasn't the sandwich itself, but rather the two-compartment Styrofoam container it came in which kept the hot meat and cold veggies separate from one another until you put them together to eat it.

The problem was that each DLT called for twice the styrofoam (which, at the time, was already the subject of environmentalists' wrath). Also, most people really didn't give a shit about the toppings on their McDonalds being cold.

Burger King used to have a spicy sauce they used on the spicy junior chicken sandwich (value menu item), and was available on request for anything.

They also used to have a value menu 'junior stacker' (and i guess a full size version probably?) which was just a burger patty, bacon, and a unique barbecue sauce. probably the best burger they offered.
