I've been eating kale for like 6 months now, and recently my mother has been buying it.

The last 2 times she has bought it, though, the kale has been extra firm (which at first made me think it was frozen at some point) and flavorless. The kale also made my mouth and throat burn a spicy burn.
Anyone know what this is?
I was thinking the first batch was treated with some sort of chemical because it showed no signs of deterioration. I googled and it's not mustard greens, and I've been eating this for months so I don't think it's the Oxalic acid.

Probably because kale is out of season. Its harvested in fall/winter in the best growing environments.

I see your jello mold, and raise you a molded chef's salad.

Well shit. I hope it doesn't stay like this until fall. Thanks.

Oh, God, the last time I was in France I accidentally (only speak German and English) ordered that dish that's a bunch of sausage chunks in gelatin three separate times under three separate names.
I'm sure there are those of you who like it, but you can have mine.
