My friend is visiting Czech Republic, and I asked her to bring me back some real absinthe.
I'm mainly looking for thujone content - can you give me some suggestions?

I got the "real stuff" and it is totally a myth man. It is just alcohol, you aren't going to feel any different.

Is it true that, that stuff gives you hallucinations?

>> No.4336920

>>4336915
absolutely, provided you find a vintage bottle from a scummy distiller who dyed it with heavy metals for that unnaturally green color.

No, just a euphoric drunk

>> No.4336932

The whole psychedelic thing is a myth, there's more thujone in sage oil than absinthe, which you can get as much of as you want and won't do squat.

If you like ouzo/anise/black licorice, you might enjoy the drink though.

You need blue absinthe, that's the same as the old school one (has been produced continuously in the Czech republic ever since absinthe became popular in the 1800s).

All others are reproductions with little or no thujone in it; their only purpose is to leech $$$ from fashionista idiots. You could call it the Apple of European cooking.
