I'm thinking about getting a metal water bottle but I'm very picky about how my water tastes, wanted to know which metals changed the taste the least and what yall thought the best ones were, not going to just be using it for water but also tea and sometimes coffee

Can you really get anything besides stainless steel?

Also, make sure the bottle is insulated if you're going to use it for hot beverages.
Uninsulated metal will conduct heat(or cold) directly to your hand.

I'd say go for a stainless steel ones if you want to be fancy but I think a high quality plastic ones would not affect the flavor of the water unless you're storing the water in the bottle for a significant amount of time.

>>4331100
Get one that is lined. I had a steel one with a polished interior surface, and if stored in there for any longer than 2 hours, the water would taste nasty.

I suppose they would, but I doubt there is much of a selection.

I use a Lifeline Green (stainless) and don't notice any real taste from the bottle. That being said I only use it for tap water run through cheap filter.

I always thought (or imagined) the metal water bottles had a taste, I got a camelbak eddy bottle 6 months ago, I love it. They also have one for insulated drinks - but also they have good customer service. Their bottles come with a lifetime warranty or something, and my bottle got this weird leak from the hinge - I sent in a request for a new lid, and I got the lid in a couple days,

Why don't you use glass? Easy to clean, no residual taste, win win for everyone.

I've got a glass water bottle that is encased in bamboo. I'm pretty sure it's called "Bamboo Bottle." It's pretty sweet, give that a try.

Get a Hyrdo Flask. Those things are like fucking magic. Your drinks will remain the same temperature for fucking hours, hot or cold. My hippie bio professor introduced me to them.

Fuck metal water bottles. So easy to get a dent in them and they're freezing in winter.

Get a Nalgene and never have to worry. If it's good enough for labware it's good enough for my drink bottle.

inb4BPA, they stopped using that ages ago

Aluminum is god tier. Forms an oxidized layer on the raw aluminum from simple air contact. Completely safe for simply holding water or any beverage of choice.

Nalgene makes water taste awful though.
Sigg all the way, your water tastes fresh like 2-3x as long as a Nalgene.

Buy bottled water in desired bottle size. Drink up the contents. Don't drink directly from the bottle because your mouth is fucking nasty. Refill with tap water. Pour into a glass or plastic cup when thirsty. One bottle lasts for at least 2 weeks before the water starts tasting funny.

As a kid I put apple juice in these and if I left it in there for a while it would ferment and cider would form.
I really liked the taste.
