Anyone have any tips for studying for a menu test?

i need to learn like 25 custom sandwiches by tomorrow.

here is a protip: read the menu.

Just pure memorization man.
If you can put them into categories in your head, that'd be good. For example, if there's several sandwiches that use a lot of the same ingredients, then memorize them as a group, know what I mean?

Use anki. It is the best method for learning anything that is traditionally learned via flash cards. Although Ankis strength relies in a little bit of studying every single day, it has helped me a fuck ton in cramming for vocab test

The sandwiches are already in your mind. If you can't come up with 25 sandwiches, you don't deserve to pass.

If that's hard for you to do, then please look into something else, because you'll be a line cook for the rest of your life.

Make sure to take your time and prepare by studying at least two weeks ahead of time.

Just go eat one of the sandwiches, the experience will make it easy to remember

hiya, nice to see you again. This sort of topic fascinates me too!

>> No.4283183

OK, so to the topic.
I'm assuming you are memorizing what's in 25 different sandwiches and possibly their recipes.

Create mental links between the name and contents of a sandwich . For example,

For a sandwich like the Reuben, I picture a sour-faced russian making the sandwich (Sauerkraut!)

You can use little mental tricks like this to assign a visual or auditory memory to every sandwich beyond what's already there. Soon enough, the sandwich itself will fill the memory!

I did flashcards, I also tried to eat one of everything on the menu.
