How much does a private caterer usually charge for a wedding?

6 Months ago my friend got married, and i told him i could make the Hors d'oeuvres/Snacks/Tapas for his wedding as a wedding gift.
People loved it, and i was asked by another buddy who just got married 2 days ago if i could make the same stuff in his wedding, and again i was pondered with compliments on my food.

So now i've been asked by people, some of whom i don't even know, to make the same kind of food in their weddings, parties, birthdays etc. and i cant keep doing this for free, and i have absolutely no idea on what to charge for this service.

Call up some caterers yourself, and try to get a quote.

Then start charging people a similar price. Maybe less, if you want to actually get serious about it and make it your job.

Call a private caterer in your area and ask about their prices. If they give you the run around, hang up and call another one. Should take you about 5 minutes to get a handful of estimates.

when i do it it's usually 1.5 times the cost of the ingredients, i do it for friends

I work with a caterer and what she does is take the price of ingredients+help and doubles it.
Another woman I work with does the price of ingredients+help+$25 per hour +$500 (or more or less depending on the event)

The first example seems like an excellent idea

The catering prices usually vary by location. Definitely call a few places and make a judgement call based on their answers.
You could even just take the average of their quotes

also, don;t get caught in the do this shit for free trap. The bottom line is they're taking advantage of you. Charge them motherfuckers like you're a broke neckbeard

Yeah, definitely don't get trapped in the "Oh but you did it for so-and-so for free!" crap anymore. Let people know that the first few times were personal favors but now it's a business. Look into downloading a generic contract/work order form so that people don't fuck you over.
