My high school is starting up a student run coffee shop. We have all of the supplies and equipment, its just going to be a stand in the hallway durring breaks.

What does /ck/ think a good name for a coffee shop in a high school should be.

and any advice on attracting customers would be sweet too.

Set it up with barstools around the stand and call it Barstucks. Also, provide just regular plain black coffee or small shots of espresso in addition to all the flavored syrup stuff, and don't name the sizes stuff like venti, grande, etc.

You could also provide homemade biscotti and baked goods, if you're willing to put in the extra effort.

how are you going to accomplish serving fresh coffee to lots of people in 5 minutes before class?
Do they pay for it?
Have customers text you their orders before, and remember to tell them the selection before so they don't expect some triple macchiato with 2 pumps of cum.
Set up the square (card swipe app (know how to do taxes or get a teacher to help)) for your iphone. or strait cash is easiest. plus you can pocket it, and dont be a douche and make your parents pay, use your own funds from the shop, trust me coffee is fucking 7 bucks a pound which brews around 40-45 cups 8 oz. plus this experience gives an extremely accurate description of handling money in the future. Also good for colleges to say you did some legit shit and donate some profits and get into Harvard for being such a good samaritan (whoever capitalized samaritan in the spell check dictionary is a fuck)

Make it a little pricy like 2 bucks for 8-12 ounces (remember were talking high school) also if you want the long run profits make sure its secure and doesn't become some drug mule shit or anal ravaging will ensue and you'll fuck your career. Teachers want that shit most of all.

Yeah, don't expect everyone to want to pay extra for a coffee. Make sure you sell ultra cheap instant coffee in a plastic cup for those that just want the caffeine hit. They might no be big spenders but they'll be regular customers and might just bring a friend along who isn't so cheap,.. or splash out one day and buy some proper coffee.

also if you really want to get into it, look up where to get syrups and sauces for coffee, amazon is your friend.

How are you going to grind and prep the coffee before, at your house? Better coffee is ground on the spot.

Who are you getting your beans from?
What kind of coffee maker are you going to use? i am assuming you are using a drip machine. How many?

Have you taken a survey first to see the general market of how many people you will be expecting to purchase this coffee?

If you do get the simple syrups Monin is the best company that's what starbucks and barnie's use (only works with the syrups charge 50 cents to sweeten it, sauces require you to mix them because they are very thick and i doubt you have an espresso spoon).

Cups and sleeves, limit this by making it a bring your own cup, tell them it needs to have a lid and be a legitimate coffee cup so your operation doesn't get shut down.
do not serve them unless. they have a proper cup. also that is easier on you then buying cups.

creamer (need to have half and half, whole, and skim) don't charge, even though these are the most expensive the markup should cover them. if not 50 cents

WHO ARE YOU SERVING? are you comfortable with freshmen tweeking on coffee? what is your school doing in order to prevent it, if they are not doing anything assert your own guidelines/ethical code of conduct.

Actually you need to remain in the hallway because rooms need seating and seating leads to groups and cliques so that the only people in the room become the cliques. Hallway means everyone passing through, everyone buying coffee.
You should also have a bulletin board less.than 24" in any dimension, but don't put anything on out larger than 3x5. Also, get a rack for literature to stock with pamphlets in sexism, gender queerness, and anticapitalism.
