Same, OP. Sapphire, extra dry, two olives. Other than that it's straight whisky, gin & tonic with lime ,or a stong cranberry vodka.

Martini, Junipero, moderately wet (5.1 ratio give or take), olives. Or Hendricks with thin sliced cucumber.

I love gin.

Dirty martini, extra dirty.

Vodka tonic

That's about it. I'm really not much of a cocktail person because the majority of them have fruit or soda and are too sugary sweet for me.

The Mai Tai. I make my own orgeat syrup and use Appleton 12 and St. James rums in it.

I like my martinis to be either lemon drop, or dry as fucking shit.

Sapphire, 3 olives, no juice. Tastes great, man.

As far as lemon drop goes, usually when I'm playing the vidya and don't want to be drunk (Eve Online is an absolute bitch to play while you're hammered)

I'm one of those wimps that hates the taste of most alcohol besides cider. I rarely drink, so it's not an issue, but I'd like to try and acclimatise myself to it.

I do like cocktails, I've enjoyed cosmopolitans and woo woos in the past.
Any recommendations to help me enjoy drinking more?

southern comfort and lemonade tastes like some space age drink you should try it

I used to drink a lot more than I do. Never an alcoholic though, just a drink or two per day for the nerves to get through life.

Margarita. On the rocks, with a reposado, Gran Gala, fresh lime, no extra sweetener. None of that faggy mixto slushy stuff. Whiskey sours are a close second.

Pretty much anything and ginger beer. Jack n ginger, dark and stormy (rum), moscow mule (vodka)

I like a gin or vodka tonic with lime myself.

I had a Manhattan once and loved it, but I'm too poor/pleb to keep all the ingredients around, and I don't trust any bartender in my town to mix one (drunk sluts mostly).

Right now I'm in a drinking stuff straight phase. I love spiced rum and scotch

on a related note, why is it that 9 times out of 10, when i ask for a gibson, the bartender/waitress brings out a gimlet?

>> No.4093652

So I finally got myself to buy a shaker and have been doing some sour variations now. Just wondered what's a good moderately dry drink you can do with either rum or grain whisky?
