People here will tell you yes to your second question, but without proper guidance, you are bound to make some inedible mistakes.

As your standards grow, so will your expectations. You'll throw out (or at least scoff at) perfectly edible food because it's not "good enough".

It never gets easier. It's like a drug, but instead, your intolerance grows bit by bit.

Jut start watching cooking shows, and implement the spices they use into yours. Once you learn the basics of herbs and spices, you can then work on HOW you cook your food, whether it be pan frying, baking, grilling, broiling, etc, etc.

Awesome. It's a useful skill, it can be really fun, plus you get to make delicious food whenever and however you want.

Start with recipes. Think of foods you like to eat, find recipes to make them, and follow them. Once you've done this for a while you'll start to pick up the basics and it will come easier, then you can start making up your own stuff, starting with variations on recipes you have or know.

Basic advice I can offer without any further knowledge:
Find a video that teaches you how to cut/chop and learn to do it right. Saves a lot of time and you get better results if everything is the same size.
Before you cook anything in a pan or oven, unless expressly told otherwise, heat it (and the oil in the pan, generally you don't cook in a pan without oil to transfer the heat evenly to the food but there are exceptions) to the temperature you want to cook at. BEFORE you put anything in.
To start out with, find videos/cooking shows or at least recipes with step-by-step pictures to physically show you what you should be doing, it'll make learning easier to start with if you can check if what you have looks right.
Add salt (even if it's just a little) to everything. A small amount of salt won't taste like salt but will make all the other flavors more pronounced and will help blend flavors together better. Start with a small amount and add more if needed.
Put A LOT of salt in pasta water. It should taste like sea water. This seasons the pasta as it cooks, it makes a huge difference.
