I wonder if Obama tips, since he is a socialist. On the one hand he is the executive branch and by extension the government, so he believes he should give handouts. On the other hand, as a socialist he believes nothing is his personal responsibility so perhaps he expects others to do the tipping for him.

For example, Obama (or his campaign,whever) ended up owing a a few hundred dollars to a local joint for some catered food. It did make the paper, and although it never got paid the restaurant in question didnt make a stink about it since Obama mentioned how much he liked their cookies at a media event, which of course resulted in a huge spike in business. plus i think the owner was a big Obama supporter anyway.

I live in a very politically active city in terms of rallies, campaign events and such. there are always stories among industry people about politicians stiffing them, but i think its mostly oversight. The big politicians are not usually personally paying for their food, its usually delegated to a staffer.
