Hey /ck/
so heres the problem, my friends and I are having a little bake off. (nothing big, just a few friends for a little competition) However, I know nothing about baking at all.
So, if anyone could give me any tips/recipes/anything on how to bake any desert that wouldnt confuse me to the point of madness, I would be grateful.

Do that.

In baking, take your time an get your measurements right. It needs more precision than regular cooking.

Muffins/cupcakes are usually pretty straightforward and easy to do.

Start early (if no time limit) and take your time.

Try to find a recipe that measures by weight and be precise. It is best to trial a recipe at least once as a practice before hand. Before the trial run, read the entire recipe.

If you can, think of a unique way to present it. For instance make something in individual portions that would usually be cut from something larger.

If the competition is all about taste, get a recipe that isn't trying to save on money and calories at every corner; go all out with ingredients, get the best of the best.
