Alright so my friend lost a bet, I'm wondering where can I purchase some surströmming.

>> No.3833999

There is a specialty euro shop up the road from my house that sells it. Probably doesn't help you much.

What was the bet?

He's asking if there's a way he could make it up to me...

Sorry, I didn't realize the site deadended when you clicked on the "buy" link. No idea then

Also, remember to open it furiously in the kitchen, most people do it by the old textbook "Walk away from your house/apartment, warn local authorities and carefully open it" approach, but it's a little known fact that it makes a delicious odour that will stick around for days if you crack it open in an enclosed space.

No but really, open it in a bucket of water or whatever else that can keep it submerged unless you will eventually want to burn your house down.

To all the plebes, smell aside it tastes amazing with none of the stench in it, which is weird considering it's potential side use as neighberhood terrorism by the cause of improper handling.

God damn, that's delicious. But then again I'm a Swede.

I second this advise, only open that shit underwater.

Find a Swedish person and have them mail it to you, pay them through Paypal. Alsoooo, try making it yourself? Perhaps?

Jeez, this thread. Now I kinda want to buy some just to see how awful it smells. Or like, open it in someones dorm.

To get an idea how bad the smell is.

This is a video of guys opening the can outside in frozen snow.

This is my favorite video of people "enjoying" Surströmming. Harold McGrr and Dave Arnold:

Surströmming can be delicious. It doesn't deserve the bad reputation to be honest. It's food for a reason after all.

Is it like Durian?

Horrible smell, wonderful taste?

I still have a can of sardines here to eat. ;3

Holy shit, those German boys are nothing compared to that guy.
He only had to drink the liquid and ate everything.
