Back in 2018, I hired a new employee. Somehow, he and I struck up a conversation about music. He'd never heard of Nirvana.
Not that I much cared for Nirvana, mind you, but they were goddamn huge. This whippersnapper being completely unaware of them made me feel positively ancient.
Initially, he'd misheard Nirvana as "Nerve Armour."
Zoomers gonna zoom.

I've had the opposite experience
I was talking to a kid at my wife's office wearing a Beastie Boys shirt and I said "fight for the right to party, bro" and he was like
>YOU listen to the Beastie Boys!?
He had tickets; hey, he's probably going to see them today

"beastie boys?"
They're fags and couldn't stand up to The Clash if they tried.

Not a fan of the BB myself; I was stuck in an office lounge with a teenager, I was making small talk
Regardlessly tho, holy shit, we had the best fucking music growing up, didn't we
Didn't matter if you were into Tool or the Cardigans, that shit was just straight better than anything since

I liked some, disliked some. I honestly don't feel the 90s were any different from previous decades in that regard but the 2000s were the beginning of the quality decline in popular music.
Compare someone as generally simple as Melanie Safka or even as typically laughed at as the Osmonds to stuff put out now and it's like comparing a 3-year-old's scribbles to da Vinci or Rubens.

Ok you got me.
This quote is not from Ramsay's book.
It's from Anton Lavey's "The Compleat Witch" book.
I now have both books in epub format. Thanks libgen.is
And thank you too anon, for trolling me.
Please don't do that again.

I legit laughed at that. Thanks.
Srsly, Melanie played with Johnny Cash and performed songs written by Keith Richards. Hardly artsy fartsy stuff.
