has anyone tried sharpening blender blades? they come pretty dull/blunt from the factory and im not sure if thats by design or like a safety thing or what. Im curious how it would blend if the blades were sharp? could it possibly hurt performance or wahtever to sharpen them?

no point. it'll dull immediately and you'll just wheaken the blade. the blender blends by virtue of hard blades, extremely high speed, and the fact only food is going in rather than wood or rocks or something.

I think you should leave it be

ok I figured it might be something like this. thanks for the explanation

Wrong, retard. While blender blades are designed for high speed, not razor sharpness, dull blades cause uneven blending and motor strain. You're going to make OP ruin his shit.

Use the rice method. Add half a cup dry rice to the blender jar, pulse for 30 seconds. Rice is abrasive enough to hone the blades. The longer you do it the sharper they get. My grandpa used to do this and he kept his piece of shit blender sharp for decades.

I'm suggesting OP leave it as the manufacturer intended. your an retard.

I have sharpened blender blades with a crock stick from pic related, it blends better afterwards.
However these were old blades with years of use, you shouldn't need to sharpen new ones.

Doesn't need to be razor sharp, but you don't want it to be totally dull either. Intentionally dull blades that have a different shape are used for whisking.
