I go back and forth between a V60 and a Chemex, depending on how much I'm making. I used to see V60 in every coffee shop, now it seems like they're all using Kalita Waves or Clever Drippers or something.
I have a big stockpile of the older, thinner filters, so maybe I'll switch when they run out.
What grinder did you get, anon? I've found that, just after the beans, to have the most noticeable impact on brew quality and flavor

including grinding?
hmm
(time is rough and not exact but close enough)
5 minute setup
5 minutes to grind(weighing + rdt + dosing + hand grinding)
i set to kettle to boil before i start the grind process so its done by the time the coffee is ground
then for moka idk 2-3 minute brew? i dont time it but thats what it feels like
a larger dose will result in a longe brew or depends on the beans or grind size or how they are roasted or how fresh the beans are can all affect the time to brew so i just make sure my procedure is correct so the coffee will be good in the end and the time just isnt that important
and then a minute for milk
5 minutes for clean up
but i dont usually do everything one after the other like that
because im doing other shit at the same like making breakfast or just other stuff that needs to be done in the morning and i do it when i think of it so i wont forget
so from beginning the coffee making process to me sitting down to eat and drink my coffee its like 40-50 minutes

Five minutes w/milk, maybe 2-3 for a 'cano. I used to be like you with my machine but every morning (unless I really don't have time) I now make a "real" coffee. If I feel like instant (I am a sucker for Jarrah) I have it in the 'noons when I've been doing things all day and don't want a real caffeine injection before trying to unwind at night. Microwaving milk gives me the ick big time.

I paid about the same as 3 years ago for the Brazilian import green.
I think it is your local economies that are pricemaxxing.
Processed consumer goods shot up because cost of living shot up because taxes shot up.
That's why the "you'll own nothing and be happy" was memed, because the rich increase property and consumer taxes to price the poor out of the market so the rich control what you consume.
How you avoid it is consuming raw or the least processed products.
Roast your coffee at home.

Anyone have any piñon coffee experience.
I stayed at a hotel in santa fe that served a piñon coffee in the lobby and it was definitely the best hotel coffee I ever had, basically just a smooth good cup of coffee with an interesting nutty smoky smell.
I found pic related at costco recently and brewed up a pot, it's the standard shitty, gross, oily flavored coffee that reminds me of something like dunkin hazelnut.
Anyone know of an actual good brand of coffee with pinon nuts roasted along with the coffee and not just an artificial flavor?

You can get a pretty big french press. They make pretty big moka pots, too. As for coffee, just google "(country name) coffee roasters" and go from there. I don't know of any specialty coffee importer businesses, but some roasters will ship abroad, depending on your location. Otherwise, you're better off finding local roasters.

I'm not a nerd like most of you guys. I use a basic as fook drip maker and a used grinder I got for Christmas one year (it was from the thrift store). I get high quality, organic whole beans however, but they're pre roasted. I'm willing to try some more adventurous international brews but I'm not sure where to start. The best at home coffee I've ever had was Salt Spring Island Coffee Co. dark roast. I'm in Canada bt w. I just take my coffee with some 10% half n half cream (what does "half and half" even mean anyways?) cause I think once you add sugar or sweeteners to coffee it stops tasting like coffee. I've started drinking it black recently too, because I don't drink the ultra cheap, shitty stuff I used to drink when I was really poor like Melitta and Folgers anymore. Anyways I need suggestions for some whole beans, medium or dark roasted, that I can acquire via Amazon or maybe even elsewhere. Addtionally, quite a while ago I saw someone post a link to an Orthodox monastary in WA which sells their own beans as well some some sick merch like mugs and shirts and such and since they're actually geographically not far from me (I'm in the Vancouver area) I've been considering patronizing them but I'm not sure if it's worth it since it'll prob be pretty expensive plus I'm not even sure if it's legal to import coffee into Canada. Anyways here's the link to the monastary. They're pretty cool: https://store.vashonmonks.com/about-our-monastery-coffee/

Latest beenz: cannibal islands amber washed mono origin

>Papua New Guinea coffee beans are characterised by their harmony and aromatic persistence. Harmonious in character, it is one of the smoothest coffees you'll taste. The dominant aromas are almond and toast, which we take great pleasure in developing through our passion for traditional roasting. This delicious 100% Arabica coffee from Papua can be enjoyed as a Slow Coffee, or filter coffee, or as a full-bodied, smooth espresso. It is amber-roasted to preserve its body, liveliness and harmonious aromas.

Thicc body, bold taste, round character, present aftertaste. Excellent little black sip.
