I ate some shrooms today and did not really get the desired effects from it. I took the usual amount which is an eight and I just felt anxiety and did not have motivation and no visuals at all. I'm wondering if it's something to do with me not being mentally ready or if the shrooms are going stale I got them in a plastic bag and everything looked normal but they were from an ounce I bought a month ago and my room is always at a 58-60 degrees temp any anons have ideas what caused me to not have a trip?

gotta be tolerance, either from taking too many or natural tolerance. An eighth would get me too fucked to stand for at least an hour, though I always soak mine with lemon juice so it hits faster but lasts shorter (lemon tek). Ya gotta wait a good 3 - 4 weeks before partaking again, and even then don't take too many in a year or the magic will be gone.

I remember taking about 20 of them.
They were dried and just between two slices of buttered bread, (buttered because I'm a Bong) they taste awful. You get about 6-8 hours of tripiness, ranging from the giggles, to visual hallucinations, to paranoia and a weird neon effect.
You have to wait about three weeks before you take any more , otherwise it's pointless and you get no effect.

if you'r taking an eighth, they are either weak or both weak and you build a tolerance to every drug
or just maybe they are not weak and you are building a high tolerance
I doubt the temp in your room has anything to do with it and the idea that psilocybin and psylocin care about your mind set makes me believe you are high and don't realize it

Hi anon, experienced anon here.
Haven't read the other comments so sorry if I'm repeating.
1. I doubt they've gone old, never heard of such a thing
2. If you're on other meds at all, they may interfere. I make it a rule to be off all things for a few weeks at least else they may get in the way
3. Perhaps they are doing their job and showing you what you have to see right now.
4. If you will try the same ones again I would advise that you make a tea of them. I don't have a reason for this, it's simply my own ritual and one that has provided for me over time. I have found that a tea of them has gone farther than otherwise, and often in nicer ways. I crush mine in a mortar and pestle before steeping a tea with boiled water from a kettle until it's a drinkable temp (cover while cooling, should take like 20m). If you don't have a mortar and pestle just put them in a bag and smash with something.

I should add that it matters how much you aim to take. I get the willingness (keyword) to ingest mushrooms every 3-4 years. I've heard others will take them every year or twice a year. If you're taking them more often, they probably won't do what you want.
