Boil or steam, add a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper. That's really it. You can also roast them if you want but steaming/boiling is much less of a hassle imo

>>20311607
I steam them most of the time because its easy and quick but If I'm cooking for others and want to make it taste good I make this recipe https://www.justonecookbook.com/roasted-miso-garlic-cauliflower/

I used to be a really picky eater and one of the only vegetables I liked was steamed broccoli with potatoes and butter

In a pan with lots of butter. Or just steam it, and then toss it in a sauce you like. I prefer Chinese sweet chilli sauce.

>> No.20317651

>>20316753
Patrician take, baked is best. I like to add lemon juice sometimes as well. You can also grate some parmesan on it about halfway through baking. The brown bits where the florets touched the pan are great.

Everyone here is retarded. Steam until done and throw Tabasco hot sauce on top.

Why does /ck/ attract the biggest manchildren? The occasional food threads on other boards read like adult conversation, yet /ck/ seems to know the least about food and cooking despite talking about them the most.

There are lots of ways to cook them. Quickest and healthiest is to microwave them in a glass dish until they are bright green, and still have bite. Then, a touch of butter, salt, and pepper.

There are lots of recipes- so I'm just going to list a bunch of random ingredients, and you will get the best advice depending on what you have on hand.

salt, black pepper -> you better have these
butter, extra virgin olive oil -> you should have these
lemon, breadcrumbs
chili flake
fresh garlic (better) or garlic powder
parmigiano reggiano (better) or shitty parmesan
pistachios or slivered almonds
lemon (or lime, or balsamic vinegar, or apple cider vinegar)
capers
anchovies
shallots or onion
ginger, soy, sesame oil and oyster sauce
chicken broth

If you have at least a couple of these things, you can improvise your way to delicious broccoli.

>> No.20318637

>>20311650
I like it better if they're par boiled first, but otherwise this. And if you don't want to take the time to par boil first, this isn't bad by any means.

>> No.20319375

>> No.20321162

Boil them in water for a couple minutes then blend them in the same water for a quick soup.

>> No.20321182

Don't. If you must, steam them, then add butter and salt and whatever else you're into. Ginger and lemon pepper is good on broccoli.
