Thanks.

Yes, I dislike overcooked shrimp. They are already cooked. I defrosted them in cold water and just stirred them in at the end. The heat of the pasta warms the shrimp.

I have an electric one, as well. The wood one also gives a nice heat, plus can multiple cooks at the same time with the same heat and save energy by heating water for other uses. It is in no way practical for everyday use, because it takes ages to operate, and really needs attention, because you need to constantly monitor the hot spots, adjust the intakes... but when you can be arsed, why not.

UPO 5A is actually still in production, it seems.

It's not a spanking new wood stove but definitely "modern". I'd say, about 40 years rather than 70-90 years old. The latter ones are a bitch to restore thanks to their funnily shaped fire bricks.

This is why I am happy I have years of experience as a sautee, if you can master shrimp and blackened pot stickers(dumplings) without burning them you are gonna make it
Tossing shrimp is fun when using burners because the butter flicking through the air with shrimp will catch fire for a split second each flip which helps braise the edges and corners of the shrimp.
