20226133 No.20226133 [Reply] [Original]

Let's settle this. Is it okay to eat at a restaurant alone?

>> No.20226140

Is that the side salad?

>> No.20226150

>>20226133
No, are you some kind of incel or something? Blocking happy couples and families from having a table. Ugh think of how you prevent the restaurant from making more money by doing this.
Just, do better opie.

Up to you. Everyone has different dining preferences on any given day, and only demon chuds in disguise will tell you otherwise. Do what you want as long as it doesn't affect others.

the only time its not okay to dine alone is if its busy and you are demanding dining room seating instead of the bar.

No, it's totally normal for traveling people. Literally no one who matters will ever even bat an eye.

I had a bunch of GroupOn vouchers for Spice Market in Atlanta that were going to expire at the end of the week so I went there every day for lunch by myself. The food was good but I think the host thought I was weird, not because I kept eating alone, but because I was reading Star Wars novels on my Kindle.

Sure, who cares. That being said, if I'm alone why would I choose to eat somewhere I need to wait in a crowded place and act all properlike.

I was aware of both, just trying to be topical. Also most Korean BBQ places I've been to welcome everyone but still have primarily a Korean clientele.

Yes. I used to work on the road alot back in my 20s. Rather than bring take out back to my hotel I'd go to the restaurant/hotel adjacent to the hotel (or on some occasions a notable eatery in the city I'm staying at) to enjoy my dinner alone. It's completely normal.

Yes, it's okay unless it's busy then sit at the bar or offer to sit with a group of strangers. Just make sure the waitstaff knows you're eating separately from them, more common with asian spots. There are tables that seat 6-8 and only 2-5 people are there.

>>20226214
Only at AYCE places in the states, you can go by yourself for most set menu/ala carte places. I'd rather buy my foods from the store and do it at home anyways, that way I can eat all the kimchi I want instead of having it in small bowls each time.

used to go to this joint after work and eat at the bar alone. ended up chatting with the bartender since he recognized me after i came a few weeks in a row for the cheap tacos. when it was nice out i’d go places and sit outside and blast cigs and read in beer gardens and pick at an appetizer

>Is it okay to eat at a restaurant alone?
Yes, it is perfectly fine to eat at a restaurant alone. The only reason you shouldn't is if you are a sperg who can't handle ANY human interaction and will shit all over the table and chairs. Don't sperg out in a public place like that, get your shit to go if you can't act with some measure of decorum.

No restaurant is going to turn you away for being a single diner, and to be honest if you are a chill regular that isn't a Karen, they probably love you. You know what restaurants (and servers) hate? Dashers, Karens, no tippers, and unruly kids.

I usually buy take-out from restaurants unless I'm with someone but I eat a lot at diners by myself. Met my current partner doing that. She's been loyal, but from what I hear and have seen, waitresses tend to be huge whores. It's nice though to have cute girls to flirt with who wait on you. Diners are always the best options in my area. Better food, more of it, cheaper, and fewer people if you're a night owl.

My experience is no one gives a shit if you do, for the staff you're an easy customer/order
Although I don't go out to REALLY nice and expensive places alone, mostly cause it feels sad to myself to not share the special occasion with others
But I love going to a decent place alone between 2-4 pm if they have lunch and dinner hours, it's the best time because usually the place isn't busy between post lunch break pre dinner, the degenerates in the back haven't been numbed by the miserable dinner rush/hundreds of mobile orders and seem to remember they kinda like cooking, if there's bar seating the opening shift bartender actually gets a customer, usually will be friendly with pours to try and get a bigger tip and keep you coming back

If you're travelling then it's completely normal. If it's in your local town then it's still completely normal in a fast food place or cafe. It might be a bit weird if it's a relatively fancy sit-down restaurant, but unless you visit there regularly enough that the staff realise you're a loner then it doesn't really matter.

eating is and has always been a socially important thing since prehistory
eating by yourself when everyone else is eating together is among the stronger indicators of social isolation, people instinctively feel bad eating alone away from the group and when seeing someone they know eating alone away from the group, even if there's a practical reason for it
bring friends with you at least, if you don't even have that, that's what takeout is for

Alphas pull it off, you sit alone cause your better than everyone. of course 90% cant pull this off. but yeah, i do this and i see other high status people do this. remember, 90% of men, and females, are low status and you shouldnt fit in in most places you go.

Totally OK at hotel or hotel-adjacent restaurants.
Otherwise, it's probably helpful if you let the wait staff put you somewhere that lets them accommodate larger parties too. And it really is more fun to go with friends or family.
