Why would anyone eat horseradish, it's just terrible.

Yes it literally says grated horseradish as the first ingredient. That being said I have never had the creamy version, regular jarred horseradish is great

There's 2 ingredients in horseradish sauce, I know, I've made it before
1. Grated horseradish
2. Sour cream
There's no gum, no fake gum, no sugar, no fake sugar, no fats, no fake fats, and definitely no soy in horseradish sauce. QED, OP's pic isn't horseradish sauce but some chemistry experiment masquerading as food

There was one time a few years back now that I had gone to an Arby's after a bad breakup. After I had ordered two roasted beef sandwiches I asked the man at the ordering area if he would just give me a bunch of packets of Horsey Sauce. While waiting in line I had a bad crying jag of about two minutes or so. Well, I suppose the man must have heard me because after handing me my sandwiches he gave me a second bag and can you guess, it was fully loaded of Horsey Sauce. So much Horsey Sauce that it lasted for nearly two years, I put it on pretty near anything. Surprisingly quite good on fried chicken, and breaded pork chops. Not so good with tuna or sardines but baked catfish was ok.

Your bland shitty amateur horseradish bullshit isn't sold in resteraunts or grocery stores for a reason

>> No.20042888

>>20042648
>Grocery stores
It isn't shelf stable, it's much much more profitable for them to keep a plastic container of chemslop on the shelf than it is to make and package fresh horseradish sauce every day, and the people they make the most profit on dont know any better.
I read the other day that there are "ingredients households" and "not ingredients households". Sour cream is one of my staple ingredients, so to me, buying a horseradish root for $0.75 at the grocery store and grating it is healthier, tastier, and more economical than the chemslop soaked in plastic. But if someone doesn't know how to cook, and doesnt like good food, and doesnt respect themselves, i think that person might buy Inglehoffer chemslop. Those people shouldn't be on /ck/ food and cooking.
>Remstorants
the good ones add chives, maybe mayo. They don't use gum and whatever "metabisulfite" is. I don't think most restaurants even keep metabisulfite in the kitchen.
>Bland
The best part is, if you make it yourself, it can taste like anything you want. If you can only buy chemslop, you just have to keep trying chemslop brands until you find one that is approximately to your taste.

I like it. I knew a couple of Russians, who really loved it.
Russian way:
>chunk of heavy, dark rye bread
>cover in horseradish
>stuff in mouth, with shot of vodka
It's not a uh, "delicate" taste, but it'll wake you right the fuck up and clear your sinuses.
