When I was 8 years old and realized that if I wanted to enjoy my Christmas cookies they’d not be shitty, random shapes covered in the most amount of sugar imaginable, and instead I autistically made dozens of the same cut out gingerbread man, that I would them dip in chocolate and decorate with icing sugar eyes and face.
My siblings, all older, would struggle to eat all their sugary cookies when I was there mogging them with consistently great chocolate covered perfection.
I was never diagnosed with autism, or assburgers, but my lawd, the shit I’d do as a kid should’ve been setting off alarm bells nonstop.

I always used to make cookies with my little ones this time of year but they’ve all flown the next now.
I still cook them for hubby if he promises not to be grumpy over the holidays!
