Koon Yick Wah Kee bros, how would you describe the flavour of this sauce? It's not like other sauces and it's not like chilli paste. I love it but I struggle to articulate it.

I've never tried this sauce. I don't even think I've seen it before, and I go to Asian grocery stores a lot. It might just be one of those things I've never noticed because I don't look for it. What do you put it on?

You should keep an eye out anon. It has basically zero sweetness, and tastes more like a paste than a sauce as it’s not very salty and it’s a little bitter. One of those things just doesn’t taste great on a spoon but really lands on the right dish. Anything sweet and salty (which is like 60% of Chinese food) works great. I always put it on mi goreng but any stir fry, noodre, soup etc would work. At least among my collection of sources it’s in a weird category of its own

It's just sriracha. You usually put it on cantonese stir fried noodle dishes to give it an extra kick but you can also dip dim sum in it although it's a little bit like putting ketchup on steak wrt how déclassé it's considered.
