Are these things actually worth the money or is there any cheaper mixer that doesn't fall apart after using it twice?

>> No.19636967

How often are you going to use it?
Make sure you get the professional models that are still made in Ohio. They have steep discounts on refurbished models on their website. But the ultimate question is how often you'll use it.
They are indeed basically engines you attach stuff too, and they're very reliable.

I make Pizza pretty regularly and i like making brioche and similar breads too.

I really like my 6qt professional model myself.

If youre gonna use it for bread making I suggest you get the pro model because it has a stronger motor. Ive heard the artisan motors burn out if you use them to make bread eventually

Keep in mind the pro has a bigger bowl and (imo) less user friendly mechanics (swivel head vs pressing bowl into place) and you need to make bigger batches of breads in it otherwise the dough hook wont catch, generally at least 2 loaves

You don't really need a stand mixer for pizza dough. For brioche they are good.

>Ive heard the artisan motors burn out if you use them to make bread eventually
The artisan models are the ones with the plastic worm gear meant to break so the motor doest.
>>19636973
Ive got the professional model too and its an absolute must if you do any sort of tough stuff. I was shredding chicken breast the other day and the bowl would have flown away if i didnt have the lift bowl model that keeps it in place

Think of it this way--to oversimplify:
Every time you use your blender is one less time it will work again
Cheap blenders have x uses before they die
Expensive blenders have x * 10 to x * 100 uses before they die.

If you use it a lot--get a good one, if you don't get a cheap shitty one.

I think that depends on how much dough you make at a time, I know I definitely use mine a huge amount for pizza dough.

This is a retarded take as everything eventually breaks down regardless of whether it's my Chicago electric angle grinder from harbor freight or my Ryobi. I have put the Chicago electric one through hell and back despite only paying $17 for it.
