I'm a broke ass bitch but I still like to eat decently. None of the microwaved frozen slop. What are some good dinner recommendations that are both decently healthy and cheap?
One of my favorites is greens and beans with Italian sausage. Kielbasa with Zoodles is another good choice as well.

big fresh salad with a few additions, whatever you got
lean meat, nuts, dried fruit, other veg, pasta, egg, wontons/croutons, etc. etc.
extremely fast to prepare with no cooking required
helped me lose a lot of weight and save a lot of money
before 2020 I could eat only that once a day for like $150/month
if you are eating it once a day at current prices it'd be more like $300/month

Many moons ago, I was poor and this was my go to meal.

Chop onions and fry off.
Add tin of chopped toms.
In goes either chilli powder or curry powder(depending on the mood) along with whatever dried spices I had.
Then add a large tin of pilchards.
Heat through and eat with whatever carbs you have - Rice, powdered mash, tinned new potatoes or even loads of bread (for the sarnie).

Frozen and canned fruits/veggies are your friends, cheap and just as nutritious as fresh.

Make Mediterranean salads, throw together some or all of the following:
>can of chickpeas
>cucumber
>cherry tomatoes
>Red onion or shallots
>feta cheese
>lettuce or kale
>Kalamata olives
>literally whatever other veg you want
>simple vinaigrette, ideally with some Greek seasoning but anything will do

I eat these like every other day

general tip, get the discount card for whatever store you shop at, check out the weekly ad before you shop, and use digital coupons if they have them. my local stores aren't super cheap but they almost always have good shit on sale.

Lentils and barley are the best friends a broke motherfucker can have

>> No.19544854

Stir-frys with mostly vegetables, specially cabbage
Thai basil chicken, mix it up with other vegetables and meats
Japanese pickles
Roast vegetables, get used to having roasted tomatoes, squash or peppers on the side
Lentils, as a soup, salad, mixed with rice, etc.
Buy whole chicken instead of cuts, eat meat, render fat from skin, roast carcass and make broth with it
If you have a small oven/broiler I would make skewers with the skin, marinated chicken meat and vegetables
Invest in a slow cooker and make bone broth and stews with the less desirable cuts
Eat more offal, it is cheaper in some cases and more nutritious
