Getting a shellfish allergy is one of my great food related fears. I don't even eat that much shellfish, but it exists in a lot of stuff especially Asian things, and it'd absolutely suck to have to stop, also it's really good.
I'm also already allergic to dust mites so I have a high probability of eventually developing an allergy to shellfish as well. Every time I eat some, I just think, maybe this is the time I develop an allergy, and can never eat it again.

The only way to remove an allergy is to intake very small amounts of the allergent, thousands of times. I wish you luck on your journey, as I have kicked my peanut and rapeseed oil allergies using this method.
Be warned, it will take a long time and if you stop, the progress will be reversed until it is completely gone.

An allergy is like only ever being able to have a particular soup when it's boiling hot. You have an idea how it tastes but the accompanying sensation is unpleasant enough that you'd rather avoid it. In this analogy the soup will be boiling hot and stay that way forever
