To me, worcestershire is more tangy with a nice flavor whereas fish sauce is more pungent, fishy, and salty. I wouldn't substitute them. I was actually surprised when I learned there's fish in worcestershire whereas the aroma is instantly recognizable in fish sauce

Substitutions aren't supposed to be identical, they're just supposed to bring the same concepts to the dish. If your recipe is Do A Shot Of Worcestershire then yeah it's not a 1 to 1 swap, but if you're putting some in the many ingredient stew then fish sauce is gonna get the same point across

Fish sauce isn't an essential ingredient in fried rice. Many iterations of fried rice don't contain fish sauce at all. You're not "substituting" one thing for another; you're just using a different ingredient. Make something SE Asian where fish sauce is part of the flavor profile and you're going to completely miss the mark if you use Worcestershire.
