hey guys, a co-worker gave me one of his Habaneros. I know they are pretty hot and I'm looking for nice recipes involving them but more centering on their fruity flavor and not so much the heat.
I enjoy Jalapenos and regular spicy Buldak. 2x spicy Buldak I can can eat, but I don't enjoy it any more.
How do I bring the Habanero heat down to Jalapeno level?

Eat it raw with something acidic like lemon or tomatoes. And remove the seeds.

You can cook down the heat. They are much hotter fresh so the more you cook them the less hot they are.

the heat is all contained in the white pith. So if you want the flavor and not the heat, remove the pith from most of the peppers. You would have to experiment but my guess would be to remove it completely from 3/4 of the peppers.

I know that the placenta contains most of the heat. is it really that easy to take it down to normal levels?

Make a nice soup or stew and simply toss that bad boy in, the heat off a habenero is perfect for that

I used to make a nice habanero and peach hot sauce based on this recipe:
https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/57326/bobs-habanero-hot-sauce-liquid-fire/
As the comments said though, the recipe calls for too much mustard. I think I made a few other minor alterations, but I can't remember.
It's a pretty versatile sauce. Not extremely hot. Thanks for reminding me that I've been wanting to make it again for a while.
