I currently live in California and don't know anyone who would say that In-n-Out is the best burger they can get. There are hundreds of better burgers around. You'd have to be pretty deep flyover to consider a fast food burger "the best". I mean, even the best fast food place is going to cook all their burgers well done, which automatically makes them worse than even the most mediocre bar or restaurant.

I was born and raised in the Silicon Valley (San Jose / Cupertino / Saratoga / Sunnyvale area) and it's widely considered the most expensive part of the USA.

I clearly remember being actually astounded as a 16-18 year old in high school, going to the local In N Out in Sunnyvale, and looking at a double double burger at merely $2.80. The price has gone up since, but that $2.80 figure is imprinted in my head because it was so ridiculously cheap as a Californian.

So yeah, you cannot have an honest conversation about why In N Out is loved without talking about the price.

It's the same reason I can't stand Five Guys anymore. I think Five Guys burgers mog literally every burger out there but you're still paying $20 for just one burger there basically. fast food fries I've ever had just eating them on their own, but they are also great for dipping since the holes in waffle fries are perfect for scooping up a bunch of sauce. The pepper bacon cheeseburger is great as well, but I usually get a couple double cheeseburgers with their sauce and no ketchup. I agree the onion rings are overrated. They tend to slice the onions too thick so you get too much onion to breading ratio per bite. They taste good, but the texture is thrown off by the massive piece of onion.
