We do things differently here in New York. Putting ketchup on a hot dog is so common here that the cart operators instinctively reach for the ketchup even when you don't ask for it. In the vid at all three different stands reviewed at 1:11, 3:34, and 8:54

When i was in elementary school (in new york) we had a retarded janitor who would ride his bike around town picking up empty cans. Mr pete was his name.
On hotdog day one year he was in front of me in the cafeteria line, and they gave him a nasty looking, shriveled hot dog with weird colored splotches on it. Mr pete shouted at the lunch lady "thith looks like my dick! Twy again!"
I remember it to this day. Thank you mr pete.

A "Coney" from Detroit isn't just delicious, it's an experience. The secret is to be able to eat one of these without needing a fork or spoon. The truly seasoned locals don't even need a napkin. And that's like a thing; if you can just walk into one of these joints and eat one with your hands and just walk out without a single stain and clean hands you'll literally get nods of approval from the people working there.
