When I have peeps round for tea, I make tea sandwiches. I eat fewer sandwiches than my guests cuz I make the sandwiches /then/ cut the crusts off (and the sandwiches into rectangles/triangles/squares) and my ho and I just eat the cut-off crusts ourselves before they arrive.

Various sorts. My roast beef with shredded endive and horseradish-and-parsley butter on brown bread and my triple cream brie with red bell pepper jam on walnut oat bread seem to be the two guests have liked the most.
I once had a tea where I served Georgian caravan and decided to make a sandwich cake instead of various sandwiches to cut and serve so I didn't have to work through all he bread after. Also had open-face sandwiches of baguette rounds but idr what I prepared for those. The sandwich cake had one layer potted crayfish and the second with smoked salmon.
