So it simply became more common as hot dogs grew more popular for them to be purely beef. Not really. Of the nationally available brands, there are 100% beef, 100% turkey, 100% chicken, mixed meat and vegan/vegetarian hotdogs but not a single brand of 100% pork. Not. A. One. Not anymore, at least. Oscar Meyer used to make an all pork hotdog and it was fucking delicious. Just as good as Euro ones. But it sold like shit due to the American perception of beef hotdogs being better.

America was literally Jewed out of pork hotdogs. Many of the first people to bring emulsified type sausages to the Americas were, unsurprisingly, Germans, Austrians and central Europeans.
