lol US and French versions are the same, literally same ingredients. Yes, there is little difference between high fructose syrup and sugar in a product like ketchup, if you were to taste hfc and sugar individually there may be some minor difference but as ingredient is pretty much the same. This is false, in EU most packaged supermarket bread will last at least 3-4 if kept in cool dry place, if I buy a French baton or some freshly baked baguette its only good for the day (actually its fine the next day too but it tends to harden not taste so good anymore) this applies to US and EU freshly baked bread.

I currently have 2 times the types of cheese in my fridge right now than you eat on average basis. That is not even about tastes but purpose

No shit, major metropolitan areas have higher quality, niche cheese and bread sellers. What I am saying is that the growing ubiquity of brands like the two aforementioned stores have aimed their market at bringing some of that variety at a larger scale to a broader consumer base that did not historically have that market, and traditional grocery stores have had to step up to compete with that, thus the much larger variety, even in grocery stores in suburban and podunk towns.
