Not quite omad, but maybe omad plus a couple light snacks (an apple, small piece of cheese, banana (taken rectally, of course,) small green salad, etc.) Plus an increase in exercise. I'm down 45 pounds in a year-ish.

Is there a specific outline for OMAD as a diet? I've only been eating one meal a day for 4 months and lost ~40 lbs. But I've tried to stay under 2500 calories and so far this month I've been trying to stay under 2300 calories per meal. Counting calories is the key.

Fasting is good for you for reasons other than ketosis, like autophagy. Eating also shortens your lifespan, since breaking down food necessitates the shredding of dna like all bodily processes thus aging you. Hippocrates said fasting was the panacea and he lived to 93 in ancient times, his school of medicine was against the analytic school of medicine which is what we use today though, but who cares fasting still good.

Your body is not used to using fat to make ketones.

Your body is also not used to switching most cells to use the ketones.

It creates some "confusion" at first and you experience flu like symptoms.

After a while though these things dissipate as you get better at the switch in fuels.

I did OMAD last year and lost over 70lbs. I was eating around 1200-1500 calories. One of the biggest mistakes people make with OMAD is they either just eat a normal sized meal of ~500 calories or they eat a bunch of junk food that has little nutritional value. Either way, you're not giving your body enough of what it needs.

>> No.19054059

I can't do OMAD but it seems ideal for me
The biggest problems I have is that I only like eating proper meals and I'm not going to have my single meal of the day be something I can whip up in a short time in the morning and also if I ate 1800 calories in a short period of time before bed I'm going to get acid reflux

Eating just one meal a day is masochism. You can do it and will eventually adjust but I tried doing this and found that the frustration from being hungry constantly didn't make any sense. Since my one meal consisted of 1100 calories anyway. If you just split that up into two portions then you get to eat at the beginning of the day and then later in the day and you don't feel like fucking dying from frustration.

I don't know what OMAD means in specific terms (I don't know exactly which meme diet it refers to), but I regularly only eat one meal a day, an hour before bedtime.
It helps me feel sleepy when I want to be sleepy, and I feel wide awake all day long. Also, my portions seem to keep getting smaller for some reason. Probably because my stomach is shrinking.
I eat when I'm with friends or coworkers, of course, because I don't want them to think I have an eating disorder. I started my diet when I was in the Army and have been keeping it up for 27 years.
I'm not fat.

I mean I only had a pizza today besides some tea and some coffee and I am full, although it's tempting to go make some ramen right now. I prefer to have small meals/snacks throughout the day than eat once but if I were to eat once a day these are goal to meals

- a fresh pizza (italian style)
- a vegetable stew, can add a little pasta or eat with fresh bread
- a burrito with tomato, onion, guac, spinach, and grilled chicken if you want protein in a wrap or in a bowl with beans, corn and rice, and sour cream for both options
- grilled meat in tomato sauce, saute vegetables at least three, mashed potatoes

And I would eat a yogurt and fruit after each one

You know I might actually be remembering wrong. I might have actually just been doing keto, and eating 2 grilled chicken salads a day. Either way I wasn't eating carbs and I doubt I made 1000 calories a day. I lost a lot of weight and basically restarted weight training. That was a few years ago and I've been saying lean and gaining muscle ever since, gradually. It's not really hard just takes patience and willpower. I eat like a good boy during the week, and I go stupid on the weekends. Still make progress.

Ultimately this. The best piece of advice for anyone is COUNT YOUR FUCKING CALORIES.
>but anon that's tedious/autistic/a pain in the ass, I have a general idea of what my intake is
Then continue to fail. I promise you it will work, and once you do it for like 2 weeks it becomes habit and you dont even think about it. The only problem is if you are always ordering out, and if you're doing that you're already fucking up. Start cooking. It doesn't matter how many meals a day you eat or how long your fasting period is, if you are counting your calories and your intake is less than your TDEE, you WILL lose weight.

it fucking sucks. i can't believe i spent my youth rotting in bed. i'm currently falling into a sort of 2 meal slump again, which will probably morph into one again if i don't do something about it soon. the only thing that has grounded me is having a rigid schedule, as i can't commit to meds or therapy.
if you can do nothing else, brush your teeth and shower.

I did it for a while and lost 80 pounds in like 6 months. I would consume nothing but black coffee until dinner after 12 hour work shift and no snacks. I also tried to lower carbs and had a lot of cauliflower rice. I made it to about 215 pounds and once I got to that point the small meals I was eating (I usually kept my one meal to around 1200 cals) was just too little and I had really low energy so at that point I had to start eating more.

Doing omad really helps get rid of cravings throughout the day. When I first started I would be starving all day, drooling while thinking about dinner, but eventually you just get kinda numb to the hunger pangs and it's like your body just gives up on trying to get you to eat.
My go-to meals were some kinda ground beef and broccoli stir fry with spicy szechuan bean paste, or chicken curry on rice/cauliflower rice

Skinny Fags can eat 4500 cals a day and not gain a pound. I've seen it.
You need to eat shit that is right for your metabolism, and stay away from sneed goyls, Fructose, and other metabolism killing shit while getting all the necessary nutrients and vitamins.
a slightly difficult task at first, but doable if you do a little research and pay attention to your body..
