To get the benefit of a pizza stone, you need to have fresh, unbaked dough. Then it's superior to the wire rack in every way

Op should know that a pizza stone should have a pizza peel as well, but unlioke a mortar without a pestle, I've used a flat baking sheet with a pizza stone in an oven to no great detriment.
A good wire brush is helpful as well--Too many sad instances of a hot stone being thrown in a sink---

It still improves frozen pizza if you use a pizza stone, you can preheat your pizza stone nice and hot to like 500F, then throw your frozen pizza on it and turn the oven temp down to whatever temp the pizza normally cooks at (so you don't burn your toppings) and then just keep an eye on it and when the cheese is fully melted and looking your preferred color of golden//brown if you prefer things cooked a bit extra.

Takes a bit longer to preheat, but cooks in ~10-12 minutes instead of 18-22.

End result is a much crisper crust underneath and a less floppy pizza.

You can cook straight from the freezer pizza on these things? I thought the temp shock fucked with the ceramic. I've got one and used it on a 'frozen' pizza once. The pizza had thawed out by the time I got home so I figured I'd use the pizza stone and it worked pretty well. I haven't used it since cause I don't want to thaw the pizza every time. I swear if you guys are fucking around and this thing explodes, you better hope it kills me

be fearful they like to crack when hot but if you preheat the stone on the very top rack the move it to lower middle rack the crust will cook more/faster then the cheese
if your crust is cooking to fast cook on a higher rack so the cheese cooks up faster

Yes, pizza stones are absolutely better for cooking frozen pizzas as well. However you need to heat it up for 40-60 minutes. It leaves the bottom much much crisper, can even get a bit of mild leoparding on certain pizzas. I recommend that you let the pizza rest on the stone for 1-2 minutes after taking it out as well.

I've tried thawing frozen pizzas out and cooking them on a pizza steel at the hottest oven temperature, as if I would magick them into being an actually good pizza instead of frozen slop. The result is quite a bit better, but it also ramps up the effort level, which starts defeating the purpose of frozen pizza very quickly. Pushing out the dough and populating it takes 5 minutes tops.
A preheated stone cooks your pizza in 5 minutes tops.

Start to finish is like 1 hour and 20 minutes, with half of it being wait time.
A frozen pizza takes 25 minutes to cook, after a 10 minute preheat already.

Its not that hard, its not that much of a time commitment. You just like eating garbage food.
