I never ate prunes but sometimes I do go to the supermarket late at night when nobody can see what I'm buying except the teenager at the checkout and buy prune juice. I for one find it very ttasty and delicious but it also works. I can't move from a glass or two but after half a bottle I can get it going within about 18 hours.

I've read that rice naturally "scrubs" your gut of any potentially hazardous pathogens, but obviously rice is not the best for you.

As others have recommended, psyllium husk is good so long as you drink a metric fuckton of water. I've heard that chia seeds work the same way in that they absorb water and carry it down through your gut quite effectively.

Personally, I prefer snacking on beans like picrel. I have life changing shits every time I eat things like fava beans, and you can either buy them roasted or roast them yourself for pennies on the dollar and add whatever seasonings you like.

Keeping it simple will encourage you to actually stick with it consistently. Look at the veggies and fruits you're most willing to eat and eat those while not stressing much about the others. I like cauliflower, mandarin oranges, and berries the most so I eat that.

If you're willing to go down the rabbit hole there's additional stuff like getting a variety of fermented foods, fermenting your own, and investigating the top potent probiotic strains of bacteria. L. plantarum helped me a lot after I was seemingly stuck for a month in a mildly bad state after a bout of bad food poisoning

Boiled or roasted tubers like potatoes, carrots etc are great, mix in green veggies like spinach or cabbage and salads, nuts etc. Careful with grains (tons of energy) and added fat (again due to energy), eat protein, its good for you. If you're not gaining weight or fat already I'd suck up as many of these healthy calories as possible and run or swim or box or fence or do anything that signals to your body and mind that it's time to build some density/mass.
