Are you a gold miner or a native? Why not just move away from Nunavut?

>> No.18831018

We are land owners primarily. We even do tourism. There is some mineral exploration on our property some years.

try hydroponics inside ur house to grow berries and stuff. obviously not a good response for an urgent situation - but something to consider for the future.

That's an idea. Haven't thought of Hydroponics since I watched Star Trek Voyager.

you should have a full stocked pantry before every winter if you live in such an isolated place

If you genuinely live that far from civilisation I'd recommend buying a pallet of multivitamins to help stave off fucking scurvy. Good luck you crazy motherfucker.

Overate fruits for some reason. This isn't my first rodeo. Just complaining to the internet. Haha

The bad thing about chest freezers is the difficulty of remembering how much of something is under something.

I'm assuming you live in nanavut or the yukon. What happens up there? Anything spoopy? If you live in nanavut, do you live on one of those random islands that canada breaks up into as it approaches the arctic? It's crazy that Iqaluit is on one of those ginormous islands in the northwest passage. I've always been fascinated by how vast and hostile that part of the world is.

If I was in a frozen wilderness with access to modern resources I would definitely consider high tech bunkers. Including greenhouses for summer and year-round hydroponics. I don't know what else I would do but dig and insulate.

The Yukon isn't that mysterious.
White people have been here for like 150 years and there are tons of resource roads, rivers and trails you can use to access the backcountry.
Also there's loads of young white people from Toronto who come up here for a few years to work for government and ruin our housing market.
Still, one of the last places with actual wilderness. I did a 4 day paddle around one of the southern lakes two years ago and the only other people I saw were an older couple living in an off grid cabin on the lake. Didn't even see another boat in four days of paddling.
If I was so inclined I could walk into the woods behind my house and hike for 200+ km in a straight line without encountering a road or trail.
