If I had uncooked rice and uncooked beans, how could I cook them quickly and easily? Should I put them both in a bowl and let them soak for a while before boiling, or can I just boil them immediately?

Google or read the packaging

Belizean rice and beans is one of the best dishes I've ever had. I have no idea how they make it but it's damn good.

beans are super hard to cook, it takes hours to do so, rice can be cooked in minutes, if you try to cook both at the same time you end with some slopa

get a large microwave bowl, use 3 cups of water per cup of rice, cook for 9 minutes, stir, finish with another 2 minutes.
>beans
depends on what type of beans you have. if they're bulk dry beans:
check them for any rocks, weird looking beans, dirt or other debris,
rinse & wash them, at the end cover them in the water for 5 minutes then come back and remove any floating beans
5 cups of water per cup of beans.
if you're going to use a lot of beans get some asafoetida powder (note this shit smells bad but it's fine when you cook, so you'll need to leave it in the container, in another airtight container, and then in a plastic bag) because that helps digestion of the beans, doesn't need a lot of it per batch, a huge batch would only need a level tablespoon, indian stores use it a lot.
add some salt, pepper, smoked paprika.
cover in pot, bring to boil, bring down to a low simmer, leave and hour, check them for doneness, may need another half-hour. basically when you can mash it.
rinse and serve, or fry them, or package them for freezing.

Buy a rice cooker and an instant pot.

Buy a bag of rice and a bag of dry beans.

Cook all the rice in the rice cooker and all the beans in the instant pot at the same time.

Portion out individual servings of each and put em in the freezer.

You now have multiple portions of rice and beans that can be ready in less than 10 minutes if you use a microwave and probably less than 20 on the stove. It's what I do anyway. And frozen rice/beans don't lose any texture or taste either. It's also cheap as dick, maybe 5 bucks for like seven meals?

if my man is eating rice and beans do you think he has instant pot money?

lmao. yeah, 9 minutes in the microwave, stir it, then finish.
a rice cooker can be a good investment if you're going to cook rice every day or 2nd day, the microwave method works fine especially if you aren't picky but it's just not quite the same as rice cooker rice.

Can I put dry beans in a container of water and microwave that for like fifteen mins or is that dumb?

good job mentioning pressure cookers but I always get the best results when I first cook the just the beans in about 1:3 ratio of water for 18-25 minutes, and only then add the rice.

unless you're making something that already needs a long cooking time (for example, meat cooked to the point where it's falling off the bone), you get more even cooking this way.
