How much do you have bacon and what do you do with it?

Bacon mac and cheese.

Pecan-smoked bacon is delicious.

Why would anybody do this? You could have just wrapped it up and frozen it flat, and then it would have taken up less room and you'd be able to chop off lardons as needed while still frozen.

i have tried that before but i do not have a good experience trying to cut thru a block of frozen bacon. the spiral method seems to be what lots of people do. and also i dont exclusively just use it to chop into bits, want actual strips soemtimes too

because it is the easiest and most obvious way to be able to freeze bacon into individual strips. if you just take the package and put it in the freezer, you have to thaw an entire block of bacon at once. by rolling it into spirals an d individually freezing them, you are able to take out individual strips and use them in that way, just take out however many strips you need and let them thaw a little bit and cut them into pieces/cook the strips directly

i just did this with two pounds of bacon, it was around 30 strips. they fit in a single layer inside a gallon freezer bag. barely takes up more space than the two packages directly put in the freezer would have.

I’m actually Muslim so to answer your question, I simply don’t partake in such vile culinary traditions. Thanks for asking, thoughever.
