Being lactose intolerant has little to do with liking cheese. Which makes sense because lactase is located in the gut, not the mouth. I've met enough lactose intolerant people who approach eating dairy with a cost benefit mode of thinking, i.e. is the milkshake good enough for the gas its going to give me later. You might even do something similar with spicy food or alcohol.
