Good for smoking a dab as you cook

I use it to melt cheese just a tad as a final touch
I also use it to light candles when I run out of matches or can't find a lighter

Yeah it’s good if something you cooked isn’t crispy or melty enough on the outside

Buying a single purpose item that can be replaced by 2 minutes under a broiler is retarded.

I use mine for firing up a meth pipe

I have one for final touch torching, like melting cheese or sugar, but it's not very strong. I wanted it to reverse sear steak but it just doesn't have that kind of power.

I love mine. You can instantly fuck with any texture to the extent you desire by just folding some foil in half and using it as a blast shield. It’s particularly good with sausages of all types, giving you that flame kissed goodness. Also you can get melty cheese browning and bubbling fast. I guess its main thing is you have the ultimate power to blast things with direct flame instead of being cucked by your appliances 24/7. Sometimes this freedom is bad (esp when drinking), sometimes the greatest thing ever.
