Gave me this instead of a regular spicy sandwich. It was a little tough, when I try to take a bite, a few strands would still be attached and would pull the chicken out of the buns. Since the skin is not fried, all the honey I put on dripped out.

I will admit to liking the spicy chicken, and a bit less than half an hour's drive from here is a truckstop in the middle of farm country that has the only Popeye's in the state that isn't in the ghetto*. Somehow they found enough niggers to be half the staff anyway, but at least it's usually clean, and sometimes it doesn't take forty-five minutes to get your order. But yes, I liked the Cajun rice too. I wouldn't drive all the way out there just for Popeye's but if I have something I need to do in that area sometimes I will stop there on the way back home.

*the astute reader, of course, already knows that in addition to the obvious signs that you're in Da Hood, if you are in an unfamiliar area you should be alert for Popeye's, Checkers, and Bojangle's, which, along with dollar stores, "soul food" diners, bail bond businesses, abundant pawn shops, and Keywanda's Afrikan Braid and Weave Shop with the Marcus Garvey flag hanging over the door, communicate to you the area's demographics almost as clearly as broken street lights, boarded-up buildings covered in graffiti, and garbage piled on the sidewalks.

Can't tell if joking. Blackening is a Cajun thing in which meat is covered with a spice mixture containing fennel and cayenne pepper and broiled or pan-fried to a dark color and just barely beginning to char. It's tricky to get right and easy to overdo, and kind of an acquired taste. A diner near me that closed due to Thuh Covidz had a cook who knew how to do blackened fish that was pretty good.
