I had the same experience! However the answer isn’t as straightforward as it seems. It’s not that you were blinded by nostalgia, well maybe a little, but the dunkaroos of our childhood were definitely made with different ingredient than the ones that are made now. Same applies to Oreos, nutter butters and a whole host of other snack foods. After all the various health outcries of the late 90s early 00s so many snack companies cucked out and started making all the classic snacks with “alternative, healthier” ingredients.

Dunkaroos probably tasted better due to the novelty and the rose tinted glasses of childhood, but they were made differently too
