They're not really all that comparable; Chick Fil A doesn't have bone-in chicken for instance. In terms of the burgers (or "sandwiches") the CFA ones are okay but I prefer the Zinger. Not keen on the waffle fries but KFC's aren't much better. I can't speak for UK KFC but CFA definitely seems higher quality than Canadian KFC which is just woeful

It was my favorite place as a kid. Growing up, I'd always get a 12 piece nugget if I could. Otherwise an 8 piece and a small fry (best fast food french fry, too) and always dip the nuggets in their mayonnaise.
When I was a teenager they came out with the "spicy chicken sandwich" and I tried it and haven't gone back. Get it the way it comes, eat the pickles off first, add 1/2 to 3/4 a packet of mayo, consume. Too fucking good, I haven't had one in a year. their lemonade is too sweet though

Chick-fil-A is good because it's fast casual, not fast food. All the fast casual restaurants are better than fast food. The latter are made en masse and kept at temperature or assembled on site from mostly premade and preblended ingredients, the former is identifiable ingredients made to fresh to order with few shortcuts a standard restaurant wouldn't use. Think of the difference between the quality of a buffet that's got food sitting under a heat lamp for a long time before you ever try any versus a catered meal that was made fresh and is served promptly once done.

It's not THAT good, but it's pretty good and the quality is consistent by location. Add in the very friendly customer service and it blows other chains out of the water. For me it's the 4 piece tendies with mac and cheese, honey mustard and buffalo dipping sauce. Their fries are unremarkable and truly just a vessel for the sauces. Sometimes I'll do a spicy sandwich instead of the tendies, the cool wrap is also pretty nice if you're on a road trip or something and haven't had vegetables in days.
