In Japan, you have Zoji, Tiger, Panasonic, Hitachi, and a couple others.

So most people will just buy what they owned last time, or what their parents own, etc.

No it doesn't.
Because the water used to grow the rice contains micro plastics.
The rice itself contains micro plastics.
The water you bath in, the water you drink, all the food you eat.
It all has micro plastics.
When you kiss your girlfriend, do you know what's in her saliva?
Micro plastics. Just a few.

Japanese and EU is very different. So it costs them a lot more to convert the models, and it’s for a much smaller market.

make better rice, do so more precisely, and on an assigned timetable if you wish.

use a pot and an optional steaming basket set up if you want to cook in [[really]] small amount but with great results
I've cooked rice from 60g dried before, the result should be ok even if lowered to maybe 45 or 40 using a rice cooker

Yeah, get the small one.
Almost every Zoji comes in two sizes.
Mine is >>18241113 and makes a single cup perfectly, and can make a half cup just as well if it’s short grain white. It’s perfect for one person, and can make enough for a family if needed. Just not “all day rice” for a family like the larger ones are for.
The manuals have the minimum amounts which can be cooked with whatever grains/settings.

You can get smaller 3 cup rice makers that can easily do half a cup at a time.

5 cup rice makers can sometimes do half a cup, but they usually tend to like 1 cup+.

NP-GBC05XT
NS-LGC05XB
NS-LHC05XT
NL-BAC05SB

All are 3 cup models.

i don't get the appeal of rice cookers. i just throw a cup of rice and 2 cups of water in a pan, bring to boil, set to low, and come back to done rice.
why by a LE HECKIN SMART DIGITAL piece of kitchenware when a pan works great?

Look for something like a Panasonic SR-3NA, it’s a 1.5-cup cooker from Panasonic’s Indian branch and I’ve just discovered while replying to you that it’s sold directly by Amazon.com in the US:
https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-SR-3NAL-1-5-Cup-Uncooked-Automatic/dp/B01DGQVXCS/

I got one for my single aunt while on a business trip in India back in 2018 (it’s not sold where I live) and she’s been very happy with it since, it was much cheaper in India though…

The cup it comes with is not the standard 1-go (180ml) though, it’s 90ml so half of what usually comes with a rice cooker.

Not at all, the reason non-stick pans are an issue is because you might heat up your pan beyond a safe temp for the non-stick coating.

A rice cooker will NEVER get that hot. If it got anywhere near that temp, the rice would burn long before the non-stick coating started having issues.

I make a lot of brown rice, and the old glass top aroma cooker would without fail spit water all over the counters no matter how careful I was with measuring/soaking/washing. Haven't had a single issue with the new one. It also makes perfect sushi rice, and I use it nearly every morning to make oatmeal. Absolutely worth the purchase.

lol @ all these retards wasting money on RICE COOKERS and STOVE TOPS. Think you're so fucking smart making rice in a pan on the stovetop? Think again retard. I make my rice in the TOILET.
