Made poorfag chili by taking a regular Texas chili recipe and subbing in beans for the beef. Tastes really good especially if you poach an egg in it and throw in lots of cheese and sour cream. But feels bad because poor.

I don't often go to /ck/ so I'm sorry for being a faggot and asking a question you fellas have probably heard a shit ton before, but
I can never enjoy beans even though I want to, something about the texture just never feels quite right, my question is for any ways to ease into liking beans
Like type of beans that don't have the paste texture, or ways to cook beans to hide it for example

Ful Medames.

I feel like Egyptian cuisine is massively underrated on this board. I suspect there's just too many jews here.

I make that really often because I'm a lazy retard that doesn't want to prepare meat. It tastes fine, anon, meat might be tasty but it's not what makes the chili tasty,

Why are my beans not getting soft? I use small white beans (or any other for that matter), I soak them 24h, I cook them as long as they say on the pack or even wice as long with for example tomatosauce so they swim and add more water so they swim more....
Is my pot shit? Is the heat gradient in the pot too large? I make 1kg dry beans at a time in a single pot, it was a cheap pot....

Honestly I've been making red lentil and tomato soup/stew/sauce and it's starting to become one of my favourite dishes.
Serve with pasta or bread for an unironically delicious and wholesome meal

Verry faggy. Try lentils, lima beans or any dried bean. Lentils cook faster, other dried beans use a pressure cooker. Mushiness is mostly due to the canning process. If you are a faggy vegan, refried beans that arent fried in animal fats.

tried making beans for the first time this week, cooked em in a pot with 1/4 onion and some garlic cloves. then fried some bacon and onion in a pan, pulled the bacon bits (and most of the fat) added the beans made em refried and sprinkled some of the bacon on top. im surprised i like em so much with just rice, and makes one meal a day easy since it digests so slow

add some baking soda to the soak bath. definitely add more water. idk i slow cook my beans for up to 6 hours but you should be able to boil them in an hour especially with that soak time. idk anon are you in a high elevation zone?
