Does anyone else get existential dread when they think about mid-tier chain restaurants like Olive Garden?

It's not even the food being terrible or anything. It's just something about like, the lack of personality, the American consumerism, the dystopian nature of it all. Same feeling I get about malls. Anyone else?

There's something strangely comfy about those places. Feels very... safe. Like living in a suburb in some cookie cutter home with an easy office job and you've got a bunch of those corporate office park type stores and restaurants and that's basically your entire life. Ever have a burger at Chili's with some pints in the afternoon? Man, what a treat. And I know better, too. I know that's an empty existence but it's got that easy familiar appeal... like vaporwave or muzak. Despite being well beyond that kind of life now I cant help but fantasize sometimes. Gettin my dick sucked by some 5/10 almost babe with a nice rack and low expectations of the world. Everyone around me so downtrodden and robbed of real ambition that anything I do is immediately impressive and intimidating. Big fish, small pond. Simple as.

Malls in the 90s had culture. I miss those days. I feel you with the chain restaurants though and I refuse to go to any restaurant that has 4 or more locations. If they’re doing something that right, it’s obvious that their food is watered down to appeal to the untrained normalfags child palate. Smaller places with less locations tend to have more focus on doing what they do well vs use a cookie cutter restaurant menu with all the chicken parm, quesadillas, wings, burgers like everyone else.

how long is a dog capable of feeling pain after the head is removed? when we lived in china we would eat dog but on occasion they would do stuff like remove the hind legs swiftly and prepare the dog's legs often while the rest of the dog was alive. this doesn't actually kill the dog like some may thing, if removed just above the knee equivalent, the bleeding stops relatively quickly and the dog pretty much goes into shock and chills for a while after the initial panic subsides. only real downside to this is for dogs, below the upper leg there's really no meat, it's mostly sinew and cartilage but this didn't stop the locals that we saw. the meat itself was not the worst, and we're actually going to be trying it again we just hope that the experience isn't needlessly painful for the dog like before on the few times we saw/ate it.

I went to one of the westfields on boxing day because there was a sale on a phone I wanted and had some gift cards to use, and you walk right through the food court to get to the jbhifi..
parking wasn't that hard to find but inside was a clusterfuck and the amount of people milling around doing nothing but wasting space in the store was ridiculous. I felt sorry for the workers for having to put up with that shit, they would probably have 10 hours getting their ears blasted by overly loud music with no room to move.
And the food court was just utterly trashed, no-one cares, the food is all garbage.

The biggest increase in food prices recently is in vegetables and that's because the crops were wiped out by rain.

Exactly. People really into 4chan-speak and dumbing down and speaking in memes don't identify with "humans". They think anyone with clear thoughts or punctuation is some sort of "reddit elitist". 4chan is vulgar and flippant and edgy extreme and to post here in any other manner is to reveal oneself as a "redditor", which basically means "not-a-proud-4chan-scumbag".

Well off working for 28k in the service industry or well off from your good job/normal hours savings after you decided to move away and slum it again?

Don't tell me you wouldn't be struggling paycheck to paycheck returning to that level.

kek, Australia is about to collapse into anarchy because of your totalitarian government. You're ahead of everyone else in that you'll be the first to implode.

Yeah, I only eat at mom and pop holes-in-the-wall. Which isn't to say that they are old-school at all.

New young and hip shit IS full of passion, it's just more likely housed in food trucks these days. It does take a discerning eye to spot what is worthwhile.
