The midwest and great plains states have plenty of good food. Sure, if you go to some small town your options might be limited, but if you're in Cleveland, St. Louis, Des Moines, Kansas City, Omaha there are tons of great food options. Even places like Wichita and Oklahoma City have a diverse choice of restaurants. I'm in Kansas and I can get tons of different food, as well as plenty of restaurants with local organic farm to table food. To be perfectly honest, I think a lot of the farm to table new American style restaurants are way better in midwestern cities than what you find in trendy coastal areas.

If you're talking about orange county, yes the rich white people there (Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Oceanside) are generally as you described. That's not really true in LA, San Diego, even Ventura and above.

Incidentally, I've lived in Iowa, Pissouri, and Tennessee and you're absolutely lying about the "ethnic" foods being subpar in SoCal. One of the few, if not only, redeeming quality of living in SoCal is being able to get incredible Asian/Hispanic food (anything from Cambodian to Colombian). With the exception of Iowa (Ames specifically) which has a ton of Chinese for some reason and incredible Chinese food, every ethnic restaurant in those states was shit, in my experience. Nashville is supposed to have good Vietnamese but it was ok compared to the dumpy Vietnamese restaurants in Westminster and Garbage Grove

So you're either larping or just know better places in flyover states than I do. Both options are possible.

The country has cheaper prices, nicer scenery, cleaner air, prettier and more varied landscapes, friendlier people, and fewer niggers. Higher risk, higher reward.

I was in a bar a few months ago in Tucson, and there were a few folks sitting near me at the bar talking with the barkeep. They all were talking, including the barkeep, about how they recently moved here from California. Which is fine.
They then talked about how they were out exploring the state and seeing all the "weird old stuff" and how they were glad Tucson was finally getting cool things like microbreweries.

I was sort of sad to here that. Both because it sounds like they don't actually like what beauty Southern Arizona has to offer, and because they feel the need to try to change what made it so nice here.

I think that guy was joking about the Grand Canyon, but it is actually quite wonderful if you've never been. Going out east to Strawberry is really cool.
It's hard to explain what to do though since it's where I live. Depending on what you like, you can find stuff. Phoenix is just a huge city now, with everything that tends to come with that.
I'm in Southern Arizona myself. If you're in Tucson, get a Sonoran Hot Dog somewhere. Desert Museum is really good. Madera Canyon is good hiking and is out of the way enough that it's often really quiet actually. Great bird watching if you're into that. Get a raspados someplace, I like Fun Land, but you can sort of hunt your way around and do well since most places are pretty solid out here.

I kind of disagree with this to be honest. There are good restaurants in the Denver area....but there's also a lot of shit. Being near the mountains, there isn't a lot of fresh food in Denver, it all gets trucked in from hundreds or thousands of miles away. You aren't going to get fresh farm to table stuff like you would in Missouri or Kansas or the midwest in general. If anything Denver is good for stoner food, weird food combos you won't see elsewhere. Sub restaurants like Cheeba Hut for example, is it the best, no, but it's way better than Planet Sub.
