I know corn syrup is terrible for you but what about just corn as a vegetable? Like is it okay to have regularly in your diet for a legume?

Corn is unironically disgusting. It's pig slop. You ever notice how piggish people look when they eat it? It's the most abominable trait of Americans. They're all obsessed with it. Every fucking summer it's "o datz gud corn" and "isn'd diz corn so tasdy?". No. It's the same as every other ear of corn, trillions of them, covering this entire continent. How many acres are given over to the worship of that rotten crop? All so that Americans can be fattened on their corn sweetened slop. Or gorge on their corn-fed meat. And when that isn't enough, they finally feed sickeningly on bare ears of corn.

I mean it's just another vegetable at that point anon, and veggies are good.

Try a whole cob roasted or boiled with a bit of butter (a tiny bit of butter by american standards) and see how you like the taste. If you have a group to feed and they all like it then it's really easy to scale as a vegetable side dish.

Corn is a grain, and it processes into high fructose corn syrup, those two facts should tell you something
Corn should be thought of as a bread made with lots of sugar, not a vegetable

corn's not even that sweet, the only reason they get corn syrup from it is to extract the resource before using the rest for feed or producing ethanol for gasoline

whole thing is just a ponzi scheme for the government to extract revenue from tax payers and subsidizing the corn industry

Hell yeah throw that into an oven with some diced potatoes and corn with a splash of oil? Bit of salt and pepper? Some herbs? Marrone that's a nice meal.

Corn is sweet to the taste, not sure how you missed this, also the fact that the corn used for corn on the cob is called "sweet corn" should be a hint
Also corn syrup is processed from corn starch, which corn has an abundance of
So corn is loaded with carbs, which are mainly sugar and starch which breaks down into sugar rapidly when you eat it
