Based. Even as an eurofag I use Johnsonville for my hotdogs. They’re so fucking good it’s as if they were designed specifically for hotdogs. Occasionally though for a little variety I’ll pan fry them in olive oil and then press the buns against the pan as they soak up the oil.

Classic brainlet take.
Toppings can be additive instead of corrective. You don't need to be solving a problem just because you're using an additional ingredient.

anytime i do hot dogs i like to mix a little sauce so every bite has the same flavor, here goes:
>mayo
>ketchup
>sweet relish
>dijon mustard
>crushed chili flakes
i then top my dogs with either caramelized onions or coleslaw depending on what i have.
it goes without saying i cook the buns and the dogs in butter.

What will you have, /ck/? For me, it is:
>Vegan Dog
>Shredded Ghost pepper jack
>Greek Feta
>Caramelized onion
>Marinated cremini mushrooms
>Sport peppers
>Diced tomatoes
>Thai chili and garlic sauce

>Ketchup
If it's that spicy curry ketchup the Krauts and Dutch then fine. That onion sauce at places like Papaya King and other New York hot dog places use is also pretty tasty.

Brats and beer is great when you fully cook them in a low and slow beer bath for 30-45 minutes and THEN give them sear and some color over an open flame. Just dousing them in beer is while they're grilling is stupid and wasteful. You can even reduce the left over beer broth and incorporate it into caramelized grilled onions. Stop being a pleb.
