you don't braise sausage necessarily lol
oh, sure, you can slowly simmer them to trap the juices and cook the meat ("""braising"""), and then you can grill or sear them afterwards for the proper exterior texture
but if the temperature is low enough, you can grill/sear them without """braising""" first
sausages are extremely versatile and forgiving, so please do whatever you want, because i promise they will turn out ok
